Art Gallivant – Interactive Tour

Join Art Gallivant for an interactive tour through this year’s edition of Africa Basel — a shared encounter with contemporary art shaped by conversation, storytelling, and collective reflection.

Art Gallivant is a curatorial platform dedicated to archiving and sharing contemporary art encounters through dialogue, critical writing, private tours, and accessible forms of storytelling. Centring artists, histories, and world-building practices often positioned outside dominant narratives, the project opens thoughtful pathways into contemporary art and its many contexts.

At Africa Basel, Art Gallivant brings its distinctive approach to art mediation to the fair. Rather than a conventional guided walkthrough, this interactive Gallivant tour invites visitors to look, listen, question, and exchange perspectives. Through facilitated conversation and contextual insights, participants will engage with selected works, artists, and themes across the fair, creating space for a more intimate and reflective experience of contemporary African and diasporic art.

The tour will take place on 20 June, from 3 to 5 pm, and will be held in English.
